BT Apex Barrel – New technology for paintball barrels

A paintball barrel is usually the first upgrade a player will buy when modifying a paintball marker. Although there are many modifications you can make to a paintball gun, few provide the highest level of performance like a new barrel upgrade. BT Paintball has been on the market for a few years. They have been producing quality military style paintball gear meant to be ‘battle tested’. Whether its its own line of BT-4 paintball guns, tactical vest systems, or parts and accessories for other guns like the Tippmann A5, BT Paintball has always pushed the boundaries of design and quality. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that a company like BT Paintball has pioneered a barrel system that can curve shots.

The BT Apex Barrel has an overall length of approximately 10 inches. Although it may look like just another paintball barrel with a dummy silencer on the end, the real secret is in the 4-inch Apex tip. When you open the tip, you will see a straight rubber chamber. This rubber chamber is connected to an endlessly adjustable slider called a ramp switch. Adjusting the switch will change the angle of the rubber chamber, which in turn will cause a paintball to spin as it is fired from the Apex Cannon. The Apex Barrel can achieve standard straight shots by adjusting the switch so it has no curves. You can also adjust right or left hook shots and drop shots by simply adjusting the switch and then turning the tip in the direction you want to achieve the curve. The BT Apex Barrel can be easily dialed in by changing the degree of the curve by raising or lowering the ramp switch. All it takes is a little practice to become an expert. Once you get the hang of it, players around the world will soon learn that there is no safe place to hide with you on the field!

Recently, some manufacturers have taken the BT Apex Barrel to new heights by creating Apex Ready Replacement Barrels. These barrels are high performance units specially milled to accept the Apex tip. Adding your Apex tip to one of these barrels is a breeze. Simply loosen the four eternal screws that hold the tip halves together. Once out of the BT barrel, the tip halves should fit into the stepped ridge at the end of the replacement Apex barrel. Simply retighten the four external screws.
