Is Samsung Galaxy S7 a Perfect Alternative for Apple iPhone 6S?

When it comes to smartphones, there always seems to be a battle between Apple and Samsung. Every time it seems that there are two similar phones of both brands that are facing each other in the market. The Samsung Galaxy S7 is currently taking on Apple’s iPhone 6S. The S7 has emerged victorious to be among the best Android smartphones, even against the Note 5, Sony’s Xperia Z5, and the outgoing 6S.

Although the iPhone 7 is expected to replace the 6S soon, the competition between it and the Galaxy S7 remains stiff in the months leading up to launch. Of course, there are so many elements at stake in the competition with some of the obvious features of the phone, both the battery life, the display, the quality of the body, the design, the performance and even the camera features in each one. . When you take a closer look at these features, it’s easy to see if the Galaxy S7 is a perfect alternative to the iPhone 6S.

Performance

Processor

The Galaxy S7 has a custom 2.3GHz octa-core Exynos 8890 chipset and 4GB of RAM, while the iPhone 6S has a 1.8GHz dual-core A9 processor and 2GB of RAM. This certainly makes the S7 sound powerful, but the 6S puts up a good fight. For example, when it comes to gaming experiences in which both work at irresistible speeds regardless of the difference.

Battery duration

The S7 seems to advance here. When tested in continuous video playback with a screen brightness of 170 cd / m2, the S7 lasted for 17 hours and 48 minutes, while the 6S lasted for 11 hours and 18 minutes. So the S7 will last you longer even when used a lot and it seems more reliable.

In terms of performance, the iPhone 6 may offer faster graphics and single-core CPU performance, but the superiority of the S7’s battery life is still more important.

Build and design

Materials

The front and back of the S7 are covered in Gorilla Glass and it also has a metal frame. The 6S, on the other hand, has a chassis that is entirely made of metallic aluminum. So the 6S has no problem when it comes to choosing fingerprints like the S7, but it lacks a MicroSD slot from the S7, so it is not possible to upgrade storage capabilities. Both phones have a fingerprint reader, but the S7’s reader is quite temperamental. However, the dustproof and waterproof nature of the Samsung S7 makes it more exciting because it can survive submerged in water for 30 minutes. Therefore, the toilet drops are less of a problem with the S7 compared to the iPhone 6S.

Dimensions

The Galaxy S7 measures 142x70x9mm and the iPhone 6S is much smaller at 138x67x7.1mm. It means that the S7 is a few millimeters wider and taller than the 6S and weighs slightly more at 152g and the 6S at 143g. In construction and design, the S7 wins again.

As far as the display is concerned, the S7 has a technically superior display, but the 6S’s 3D touch is just as useful, so they build on this. The S7’s camera offers better images than the 6S, so it’s definitely another win for the Galaxy smartphone.
