3 Exercises Using a Pilates Exercise Ball

The main advantage of doing Pilates ball exercises to get in shape is that they can be done in the comfort of your own home. So no longer will you have to spend time and money signing up for a gym and then traveling to it to use the equipment they have available.

Another advantage of using a Pilates exercise ball is that it is a very versatile piece of fitness equipment. It allows you to perform some very basic movements that can improve the general condition of your body and that are usually neglected in our daily routine.

In fact, there are some very simple exercises that can be done with a Pilates exercise ball that can help improve your body and posture as well. In this article we take a look at some of these easy Pilates ball exercises.

Exercise 1 – Simply sitting on the ball initially helps align your muscles and therefore helps improve your posture. This is because you have to use all your muscles at the same time to keep your balance on the ball.

Exercise 2 – Once you have been able to balance on the ball, now is the time to start gently bouncing up and down on it. Too vigorous and of course you will lose your balance and fall off the ball. This particular exercise is designed to help strengthen your back muscles.

Exercise 3 – If you need an exercise to help improve the condition of your abdominal muscles, you will need to lie on the ball, face down towards the floor. Then, very gently, you should roll back and forth on the ball with your arms wrapped around the ball with your elbows horizontal through it.
