Book Review – Mission: Success!

Og Mandino is a narrator. His stories and books are about overcoming self-doubt and gaining self-confidence and self-esteem. We are often faced with the same dilemma as his characters (including himself). We have to meet those challenges head-on. Like his other books, like “The World’s Greatest Salesman” or “A Better Way to Live,” he shows us scrolls or books we can (and should) read to “brainwash.” He does this in the book, “Mission: Success!”.

The story takes place during World War II. As in his other books, there seems to be an overlap of personal life stories and fictional accounts. In this story, he will learn about the seeds of success. Success is not an accident but a purposeful event. In Chapter 18, he will find the Seeds of Success. It is a mantra that is about being thankful for God’s opportunities. Then he must forget past failures or events. Today is a new day to expand and produce your seeds to greatness.

As the story unfolds, we are able to create miracles every day when we shift our beliefs and minds towards ideals and principles of success. This is possible through people and books.

Furthermore, there is a common denominator among those who are successful. They all have “friends in higher places”. They have connections. Most people would complain and say that people are successful because they have an unfair advantage over others because they have connections. They would be telling the truth. But, they are not telling the whole truth. The other part of success that they will overlook is that everyone has those same connections. Anyone can have those “friends in higher places.”

Who are these “friends in higher places”? These are the people throughout the ages who will help you through the trials and tribulations and achieve victory and success. How could you take advantage of those “friends in higher places”? Just like anyone else who has been successful in the past, present, and even the future, through the books. Not just any book, but books that lift your spirits and feed your mind with success principles. Biographies of great people who did great things like Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Edison, Anne Frank, Napoleon Hill, Booker T Washington to name a few. In addition, there are best-selling books like “Think and Grow Rich” that anyone can and should read.

“Mission accomplished!” it’s about you deciding to start your personal mission to succeed.
