Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your KitchenAid Professional 600 Blender

Your KitchenAid Professional 600 mixer may get quite hot during use. When mixing large, heavy mixes for long periods of time, the top of the mixer is likely too hot to touch. This is completely normal, so don’t be alarmed.

2.When you first buy your KitchenAid professional 600 mixer, you will also notice that it emits a strong electrical odor. Again, this is quite common with all new appliances.

3. If your flat beater hits the sides of the bowl, you will need to check the correct clearance levels per the instructions below. If they are configured correctly, you will need to contact customer service and coordinate your review. Make sure you have your proof of purchase handy.

If your KitchenAid professional 600 stand mixer stops working, you should check the following points first:

  • Make sure the mixer is plugged in.
  • Is the stand mixer circuit fuse working?
  • If you have a breaker box, make sure the circuit is closed.
  • Turn off the stand mixer for 10-15 seconds and then turn it on again. If the mixer still won’t start, let it cool for 30 minutes before turning it on again. – If the problem is not caused by one of the above items, you can contact customer service and have an engineer examine it.

Beater-to-bowl clearance adjustment

When your KitchenAid professional 600 was assembled at the factory, the settings were carefully adjusted so that the flat beater was at the correct distance from the bowl to allow for optimal mixing.

If, for some reason, the flat beater hits the bottom of the bowl or is too far from the bowl, you can correct the gap very easily.

1.Always unplug the KitchenAid professional 600 before attempting to work on it.

2. Next, place the bowl lift handle in the down position.

3. Lay the whisk flat as if you were going to use it for mixing.

4. Find the adjusting screw located on the main mixer housing behind where the flat mixer sits. Turn the screw counterclockwise to raise the bowl and clockwise to lower it. Note that the screw only needs to be turned a little bit and will not turn more than 1/4 turn (90 degrees) in either direction. (The full range of adjustment is 1/2 turn or 180 degrees.)

The bowl should only clear the bottom section of the bowl.

5. Place the bowl lift handle in the up position to check clearance.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 if necessary.

NOTE: When properly adjusted, the flat beater will not hit the bottom or side of the bowl. If the flat beater or wire whip is so close that it hits the bottom of the bowl, the liner may wear out the beater or the whip cables may wear out.
