What will this nation become?: 5 considerations

Well, it seems that in the last couple of decades, the polarization of the citizens of this nation has widened, perhaps in a way that is potentially dangerous in the long run! However, many of the events, rhetoric and division seemed to grow exponentially after the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States in November 2016. Will we remain the land of the free or will we cease to be the example for the rest of the world in areas such as human and civil rights, freedoms (of expression, of the press, etc.), maintaining, guidelines, constitutional guarantees, etc.? What will this nation become and what will it look like in the future? With that in mind, this article will briefly attempt to consider, examine, review and discuss 5 essential and relevant considerations.

1. Justice – for – all / Freedoms: Many fear that the United States will abandon its emphasis on providing justice for all, protecting all liberties, instead of doing it selectively! Do you really believe that our judicial system protects and treats all of our people equally, regardless of wealth, status, and race/ethnicity? Shouldn’t we be concerned that so many fervently demand so-called 2nd Amendment rights, while perceiving 1st Amendment rights are quite different? When a former president articulates a message, equating peaceful protesters with white supremacists, Nazis, etc., can any nation overcome that long-term damage?

two. Quality medical and health care/treatment: a right or just a privilege?: Although all other major nations provide all their citizens, regardless of financial capabilities/wealth, with quality healthcare, this nation has apparently not yet decided whether citizens’ health, etc. should be considered a right or, simply, a privilege, for some! With the relative wealth of this nation, what does it mean that we don’t provide the best healthcare in the world?

3. Why have laws if they are not enforced?: What good are even the best, most well-intentioned laws if they are ignored or not enforced? We witness this, from things like traffic/driving violations (How often do we see so many refusing to stop at stop signs?), to enforcing the concept that no one is above the law. law (witness the behavior, and lack of punishment, these last 4 years, of the 45th President of the United States, etc?

Four. No one above the law: When normal people are punished for minor events, and the powerful seem to wear themselves out, teflon suitsIsn’t that a contradiction to the concept that nobody is above the law?

5. Systemic racism: Although it has been around, for centuries, the level of ongoing systemic racism came to a head in the last 4 years! Witnessing, a small number of police officers, using too much – too much – force, against people – of – color, than others, should be worrisome, in terms of the future of America!

Wake up, America, and think about the most desirable vision of this nation, in the future, in terms of whether we will be the example of freedom for the rest of the world. , or, just another greedy member! Will you demand more than we elect?
