Dallas Cowboys Game Analysis: Week 1 of Preseason vs. Seattle Seahawks

I loved how Jerry Jones called Said Owens needs
to learn to play 80% like Deion Sanders could.

Interesting twists on the starting forward seven. Two guys I doubt will
start up the team (Scott Shanle and Kenyon Coleman). I
I think this is kind of the last chance for these guys to show

LB teams. There are too many young people with more

Skyler Green looked good as a returner. she got off to a good start
comeback to open the game, and a good punt return. he did not do it
show a lot as a receiver though.

All 3 backs looked good. Jones ran hard and seemed fast.
Barber ran with power and Thompson looked really explosive in
the outfield Barber is probably in the doghouse for bouncing
his goal line ran wide for a two-yard loss. he really would have
I like to see Dallas score a TD on a 1st and goal from the 3rd.

Tony Romo looked great. He didn’t force any pitches, and I love it.

Sam Hurd looked pretty good. He opened up but dropped a couple
of passes I should be part of the team, but I think the media have
he overdid it quite a bit.

The pass protection was amazing. We do not allow a sack for him
whole game. Flozell Adams looked solid and Marc Colombo
seemed to handle Bryce Fisher pretty well, but he had two false
starts.

The running game was less than stellar, but that’s to be expected with
the lack of continuity within the line. I still hope the line
fight opening lanes this season, although I’m sure we will
enhance. I think we will have to rely on the passing game to
open the racing game. But I will say that Colombo
he consistently landed good blocks on his guy. He also showed that he can
block decently in space.

The kicking game was solid. Vanderjagt hits an onside kick. Suisham
he barely made his short attempt, but he looked better as a kickoff
guy. However, he was still average at it. If we have to get a
kick specialist, he had better at least be one of the best in the
business on it. McBriar had some short punts, but I’m not worried
about him.

Patrick Crayton had a good game. He showed his excellent
hands, but still has problems with ball security. The
ankle as well, so that’s a concern right now.

Flozell Adams looked good against a very fast Darryl Tapp. I am
not all that cared for him now.

Keith Davis seemed solid. He helped run support and he didn’t.
make mistakes, which is exactly the kind of acting that
need him.

Pat Watkins looked great on special teams coverage units. Hears
looked good on defense, but slipped and allowed a great play on

Chris Canty was very active, made several tackles behind the
line of scrimmage.

The nose tackles looked pretty good. Ferguson was great, and
Pepper Johnson was solid. He’s still a better runner than a stuffer.

Jamaica Rector made a couple of good catches. there will be a
battle between him, Hurd and Green for the last 2 WR spots.

Petitti looked very good. He had a couple of really nice run blocks,
and looked solid in pass protection.

Anthony Fasano didn’t show much as a receiver. has its bell
run in the first series of the game. He looked good as a blocker.

Quincy Butler made a couple of snaps at cornerback. He appears
have a good store for post 5 CB.

I can’t get over how big Akin Ayodele looks. He is the definition of
a big, strong linebacker. He had an easy touchdown in the 4th
fourth, but lost the interception. Watch to see more of him below.

Bobby Carpenter didn’t seem to show much. he did not seem

Jay Ratliff looks bigger and stronger than he did last season. It seemed

Punter Tyler Fredrickson had excellent timeouts on his punts. I
he thinks he can kick so if he’s a decent kicker he can beat
McBriar just because it would save us from having to get another
kicker.

Nate Jones had a couple of good plays knocking down two passes.

Lenny Williams also looked pretty good on CB, but that’s not a
surprised since he played very well in Europe.

John Saldi looked good. I think it’s a good practice team.
