How to install Windows 7

Now let’s take a look at how you can go ahead and reinstall Windows 7 on your computer (or) how to install Windows 7 on your computer.

First make sure to back up all your data before starting the reinstallation.

The reason is simple when we go to install Windows, Windows will erase all data on the computer and reinstall a fresh copy.

First insert the Windows disk you have in the computer.

Now reboot your computer and then tap f12 on keyboard to access boot menu, there choose boot device from cd/dvd or cd rom or dvd rom and then tap enter continuously until you see an option that says windows is loading files.

By any chance, if you can’t get to the boot menu, tap f2 when the machine boots up.

It will take you to the BIOS, there go to the boot section and then change the boot order with priority to cd/dvd rom and then reboot your system, then it will try to boot from disk.

Now once the machine is booting from the disk, like I told you, you’ll see a message that Windows is loading files.

Wait until Windows loads all the files.

Once you load all the files, you will get a window asking you to select the language, choose the language you want to install Windows.

Below that, you will also see another option that says choose keyboard layout, choose keyboard layout and then click next.

You should now see a message telling you to click install now. Click install now.

Now you will get another screen that says to accept the license terms and conditions.

Accept the license terms and conditions, and then click Next.

Once you click next it will take you to a page where it will give you 2 options upgrade or advanced custom.

Click advanced custom.

You should now see the list of partitions available on your computer.

Select the partition where you want to install Windows and then format the partition by choosing drive options and then clicking format.

When you click format, you will get a warning message that all the data you have obtained will be erased.

Click OK.

Note: When you click format, all data on the machine will be erased.

Once the format is complete, you will return to the same screen showing the partitions.

Now that the partition is formatted, select the partition and then click next.

Windows will begin the installation.

And while the installation is taking place, it will ask you to choose settings such as time zone, computer name, and user accounts. Go ahead and select them. The installation will complete and then you will return to your desktop.

That’s it, Windows is installed on the computer.

Once Windows is installed, go ahead and install the drivers that need to be installed on your computer.
