Reverse Bandit Signs

As investors, we have all heard of, used, or at least seen signs of banditry. You know those telephone poles labeled “We Buy Houses”? Of course, these are bandit signs because they are constantly being stolen by the police from hanging signs – the local city benefactor, the local county manager, etc. Yeah, they’re only active for about 3 days before they get stolen by one of these sign bandits.

Contrary to what you’re probably theorizing at this point, I don’t have a cure for bandits. The purpose here is to introduce a new idea called “Reverse Bandit Signals”. As you probably know, “We Buy Homes” groups and individuals are trying to attract sellers with their signs. However, here is a little trick that has proven to work very well.

Use the same Black on Yellow signs but with a few changes. Get them professionally printed first instead of handwritten. Make the title “Investor Buyers.” Make the copy target buyers, NOT sellers. Include only your website address where potential buyers can go to sign up for your buyers list.

Here is a possible example:

“Investor Buyers

Wholesale property sales

First come, first served

Up to 54% off market value

Your domain name here”

Then place these signs atop telephone poles at busy intersections on a Friday night. Make sure they are near real restaurants, not fast food places. Use someone’s truck to stand on the bed and post it nice and tall. This makes it harder for bandits to reach them to take them down.

These signals will drive investors who actually want to buy your deals to your website and join your buyers list. Of course, be sure to embed some autoresponders on the site you send them to so your response can be immediate and automated.
