understand people

Sometimes all you need to do to save someone is listen to them, pay attention, try to understand what they have to say, see things from their point of view. Every once in a while, someone gets knocked down by life. They need help. They need someone to hold their hand when they’re down, crawling, struggling to get up with scraped knees. They need someone to make them smile. They need someone who cares. They need someone to listen to them. They need a friend. A friend who is always there. No one can deny the fact that each year many, many people take their own lives. Does that mean that in the whole world, filled with billions of people, there is no one, NO ONE, who cares about them? Or, at least, shed a tear for them? If not, why make them feel that way? Does it hurt to give an unpopular kid at your school the seat next to you? Does it hurt to let others play with you? Does it hurt to talk to a lonely soul, once in a while? Or should I say, does it hurt to save a life… when all the other asks for is a moment of your precious time?

No one said that it is easy to help those who suffer, those who suffer, those who are down. But is it easy to see the pain of others? And I swear to you that what you see happen to others is not really what they go through. They go through much worse things. Worse than you can imagine. Your head would spin and you would lose your wings, if you could feel it. But then, only those who go through this can understand the pain. The pain of being alone in a place full of people, happy people, laughing together.

Let’s be very honest here, have you ever been completely lost? When you don’t know where to go anymore. It’s like thinking which way to swim when you’re in the middle of an ocean, an ocean without end. So how can you explain a color, when you’re blind? How can you recognize a voice, when you are deaf? How can you feel the pain of death, when you have not died? So tell me, how can you judge someone who has had no one in his entire life, and has only heard bad words, has only experienced pain and has only fallen, lower and lower? How not to judge the many people who are standing at the top, next to the well, and still do not lower the rope to the one who goes even lower, shouting for help, crying and shouting in vain?

So take a minute and think about it… maybe you need to change yourself sometimes.
