How to Downgrade iTunes 11 TB iTunes 10.7 on Windows OS

Suppose you have already updated your iTunes 10 to the latest version 11, but found that you are not used to its revised interface and some key features, so you would like to reinstall your iTunes 11 to v10.7. This tutorial will tell you how to get back to iTunes 10.7 for Windows in detail.

Step 1. Get the iTunes version 10 setup file. Just look on your local hard drive to see if you have version 10 somewhere. If you deleted it, you can go to OldVersion.com or support.apple.com/downloads/#itunes where you can get the old version.

Step 2. Uninstall version 11 of iTunes. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, then click Uninstall iTunes 11.

Step 3. Start installing version 10.7 on your computer. And this process will be completed in about 2 minutes.

Step 4. Click the iTunes 10.7 icon on your desktop to launch it, then an error message will appear, leaving you without access to your music library. Just ignore this for now, because following the steps below will fix this problem.

step 5. Open C:UserAdminMy MusiciTunes. The iTunes folder contains a file called “iTunes Library.itl.” Just delete it. Then open the subfolder called “previous iTunes libraries”. The most recent file in this subfolder is your iTunes 10.7 library. Just copy it to the iTunes folder and rename it “iTunes Library.itl”.

step 6. Open iTunes 10.7. You should now be able to use version 10.7 as before. When the software asks you to update it to version 11, just ignore it.

PS Two tips you should know:

The tip1 would be that before you uninstall iTunes 11, you should backup your iTunes media folder if you want to keep your iTunes media (movies and TV shows, music, audiobooks, etc.). You can use a backup program to back up your computer. The benefit of using such a program is that you can return the iTunes folder to the previous state with just several clicks. Or you can do a manual backup. The appeal of this is that you may lose some library information, such as album art, titles, covers, etc., when you import your previously exported files to the reinstalled 10.7 version.

Tip2 is don’t use oldapps.com to get iTunes v10.7.0.21, because it’s badly broken. Apart from giving you an error message, you won’t be able to sync any apps.
