What is Samsung QLED Ambient Mode?
As we’re almost halfway through 2018, all the major manufacturers of home entertainment equipment have long since released their key lines of hardware and all the features that come with them. In the months since CES 2018, retailers and customers have had a chance to really get to know what features Samsung, Sony and the like have brought us this year.
We take a look now at Samsung’s ‘Ambient Mode’, which is not to be mixed with the ‘Ambient Display’ found on the same company’s top smartphones and offers more than one or two reasons (if more are needed) to keep your Samsung TV on longer.

For a long time, attention has been focused on what a TV screen can do in terms of picture quality and high-definition image rendering. While these aspects are still very important to any modern TV, Samsung has really thought outside the box on this one.
Samsung’s 2018 QLED model range comes with Ambient mode, which is a truly innovative change in what your TV can do for you when you’re not actually looking at it directly. It’s a ‘no more black screens’ kind of deal.

Of course, there will be many owners of models like the Samsung QE55Q9FN QLED TV, who will be proud of their purchase and don’t want it to blend too much into the background where no one can see it. Other options for the aptly named ‘Ambient’ setting can involve displaying photo albums, amazing-looking digital clocks, and even moving mountain landscapes that change to reflect what’s happening with the local weather.
Its creators say it’s the perfect way to connect your home to the outside world and we’re inclined to agree with them from what we’ve seen of the feature ourselves.
